Job summary

West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a motivated Housing Development Officer to join the Housing Development and Homelessness team and support delivery of Strategic Housing Objectives. The role involves contributing to development, implementation, monitoring and review of Local Housing Strategy, Allocation Policies and Housing Solutions Strategy.

You will work with Housing Development Coordinators and Senior Officers, undertaking research and analysis to inform policy, help the Council meet

Qualifications

• HND in a housing-related discipline or relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of current housing legislation, regulation and good practice principles.
• Good general knowledge and experience of homelessness.
• Experience of analysing information and producing reports.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to plan, manage and monitor workloads, balancing priorities and deadlines.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Council's housing strategies and plans.
• Collecting, analysing and reporting statistical and trend information relating to housing needs and homelessness.
• Undertaking research, and commissioning or managing external research projects to inform policy and practice.
• Developing liaison with internal departments and external partners to support strategic housing planning.
• Developing high quality publicity and information on housing options for those homeless or at risk.
