Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Housing Strategy Officer to join the Strategic Housing Team on a hybrid contract. You will develop and deliver key housing programmes, shape policy and partnerships across the county, and provide robust analysis to inform decisions.

The role requires experience in researching housing legislation, building relationships with providers and partners, and securing funding to support accommodation and services for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience researching and analysing complex information and producing policy or project documents.
• Understanding housing issues, legislation and policy in a changing environment.
• Ability to build relationships and negotiate across organisations.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyse housing legislation, policy and local data to inform strategy.
• Prepare strategies, briefings and governance documents.
• Support consultation, engagement and funding bids.
• Coordinate delivery of housing programmes with providers and partners.
• Provide advice to senior managers on strategic housing issues.
• Develop and apply for internal and external funding.
