Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council in Hamilton is seeking a Strategy and Policy Officer to drive the development, implementation, monitoring and review of housing policies and plans.

You will research housing policies, prepare high-quality reports, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and help shape responses at local and national levels. The role requires proactive, analytical, and project management skills, with a flexible and collaborative approach and strong IT abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience researching and evaluating housing policies and strategies.
• Ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefing papers.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking effective research, analysis and evaluation of housing policies and strategies, identifying key implications and opportunities for the Resource at a local and national level.
• Preparing high-quality written reports, briefing papers and other strategic and procedural documentation across a range of housing, property and homelessness service areas.
• Developing appropriate responses on behalf of the Resource and the Council
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, elected members, partner organisations and customers.
