Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to support the Earth & Environment business across the UK. You will advise leaders, manage projects, and drive safety improvements across Principal Contractor environments.

You will review RAMS, assist with investigations, and shape safety culture through coaching and strong collaboration with project teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent H&S qualification.
• Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards Chartered status.
• Significant practical experience of Principal Contractor works and contractor management.
• H&S experience in construction, infrastructure, environmental, engineering or major projects.
• Ability to review RAMS, safe systems of work and project controls on site.
• Proven ability to prioritise in a busy, changing environment.
• Strong influencing, stakeholder management, reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to translate legislation into practical solutions.
• Willingness to travel to UK offices and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Act as the trusted H&S advisor to E&E leaders and site teams.
• Integrate H&S into business planning and project delivery with clear guidance.
• Support delivery of safety priorities and improvement plans.
• Influence leaders to strengthen leadership and early engagement with HSEQ.
• Provide advice and assurance for work in Principal Contractor environments.
• Review RAMS, safe systems of work and construction-phase controls.
• Promote safe site practices through visits, reviews and inspections.
• Analyse H&S data to identify trends and communicate findings to leadership.
• Contribute H&S input to bids and supplier onboarding where needed.
