Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to support the Earth & Environment business across the UK. You will act as a trusted H&S advisor to leaders, project teams and managers, integrating safety into planning, delivery and assurance activities to drive compliant project execution.

With strong experience in Principal Contractor environments, you will review RAMS, safe systems of work and controls, conduct site visits and lead investigations when incidents occur.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant degree or H&S qualification.
• CMIOSH Chartered status or working towards it.
• Significant practical experience with Principal Contractor works on construction sites.
• H&S experience across construction, infrastructure, environmental, engineering or major projects.
• Ability to review RAMS, safe systems of work and project controls on site.
• Strong ability to prioritise in a busy, changing environment.
• Excellent influencing, stakeholder-management, investigation, analytical, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted H&S advisor to E&E leaders, service lines and project teams.
• Integrate H&S into business planning and project delivery with clear advice and assurance.
• Support delivery of safety priorities and improvement plans aligned with UK&I HSEQ strategy.
• Influence leaders to strengthen leadership, accountability and early HSEQ engagement.
• Review RAMS, safe systems of work and project controls; challenge where needed.
• Undertake site visits, inspections and ensure effective risk controls and stop/withdraw where needed.
• Plan and deliver project reviews, audits and checks with clear actions and close-out.
