Job summary

WSP is seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to support the Earth & Environment business across the UK. You will be the trusted H&S advisor to leaders and project teams, ensuring safe, compliant delivery while integrating safety into planning and operations.

This role requires strong experience with Principal Contractor works, RAMS review, and incident investigations. You will travel to project sites, influence senior stakeholders and lead safety improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent H&S qualification.
• Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards Chartered status.
• Significant practical experience of Principal Contractor works and construction site interfaces.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, environmental, engineering, consultancy or major projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted H&S advisor to E&E leaders, service lines, project teams and managers.
• Integrate H&S into business planning and project delivery with clear advice and assurance.
• Support delivery of E&E safety priorities and improvement plans in the UK & Ireland.
• Influence leaders and teams to strengthen visible leadership and early engagement with HSEQ.
• Provide competent advice for work in Principal Contractor environments and manage contractor interfaces.
• Review RAMS, safe systems of work and construction-phase controls on site.
• Lead investigations to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyse H&S data to identify trends and provide leadership with concise reports.
• Deliver H&S briefings, workshops, and learning communications.
• Collaborate with HSEQ and other functions to maintain competence and share best practice.
