Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a strategic leader to deliver system-wide health improvement and reduce inequalities within Renfrewshire HSCP. The role provides leadership for the Health Improvement Team and ensures alignment with national and local priorities.

You will shape long-term population-level strategies, oversee performance and programme management, lead a skilled workforce, and influence policy implementation across NHS, local authorities and partners.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with a Masters level qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
• Significant management and leadership experience within NHS or public sector, including strategic level work and cross-organisational influence.
• Experience of leading partnership working and managing organisational change within complex systems.
• Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills with ability to engage at senior level.
• Ability to manage complexity, competing priorities and deliver across a broad portfolio.
• Knowledge of health improvement, inequalities and the wider public health policy context.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Health Improvement Team with focus on reducing health inequalities.
• Lead development and delivery of long-term, population-level approaches aligned with national and local priorities.
• Oversee strategy development, performance and programme management, workforce leadership and cross-sector collaboration.
• Influence policy implementation across NHS, local authorities and community planning partners.
