Job summary

MAHLE Powertrain is seeking a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth of our engineering consultancy services within Defence and/or Marine sectors. You will use consultative selling to influence stakeholders at technical and executive levels, develop strategies, and secure RFQs.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in technical sales or business development within an engineering-focused environment.
• Existing network within Automotive, Defence and/or Marine sectors.
• Strong consultative selling, relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience engaging with engineering, procurement and senior leadership stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute BD strategies aligned with growth objectives.
• Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities in Automotive, Defence, Marine.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline to support revenue targets.
• Develop strategic account plans for key customers.
• Convert opportunities into awarded programmes via value-based selling.
• Promote MAHLE Powertrain's capabilities to prospective customers.
• Act as the primary commercial interface and support customer visits.
• Identify customer challenges and align MAHLE Powertrain capabilities to deliver value.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term account development.
• Secure RFQs and support proposal development.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Provide market intelligence reports to senior management.
• Identify new markets and partnership opportunities.
• Represent MAHLE Powertrain at industry events.
