Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a General Manager to join the team at The University of West London in London on a permanent basis. This full-time role (40 hours/week) offers a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The GM will deliver operational support to staff and line manage direct reports, ensuring budgets, business plans, and contract objectives are met with a focus on compliance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality hard and soft FM services as specified within the contract, ensuring value, productivity and cost efficiencies.
• Formulate strategies with management and client to meet service demand and drive improvements and growth.
• Exercise financial and commercial controls to manage expenditure and income within budgets and maximise profitability.
• Produce the overall contract budget and monitor actual performance against budget.
• Cost-effectively manage suppliers to achieve best value and develop supply relationships.
• Implement and maintain contract performance monitoring systems; stay accountable for monthly results.
• Support managers in managing supplier relationships across regions for best value.
• Engage in business development activities for the contract and local area.
• Promote high standards of customer care and monitor service quality.
• Ensure a safe environment and compliance with health & safety requirements and permits to work.
• Recruit, select, motivate and develop staff; manage performance and succession planning.
• Mobilise and stabilise hard and soft FM services within the contract.
