Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking an Employment & Skills Lead to drive the strategic delivery of Better Days employability and skills programmes across its communities. You will conceptualise, plan, organise and deliver large-scale initiatives, with a focus on partnerships and outcomes for customers.

The role requires experience coaching or leading teams, managing project delivery timescales, and working across Orbit’s national footprint with travel across the Midlands, the South and the East.

Qualifications

• Ability to build broad networks and partnerships to drive funding and outcomes for customers.
• Knowledge of government employability and skills strategies and trends.
• Strong project and contract management experience.
• Proven track record of delivering employability and skills projects with continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in MS Office and reporting (performance & impact).
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in employability skills.
• Role requires nationwide travel across Orbit sites and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Orbit’s Better Days employability and skills portfolio.
• Oversee budgets across the portfolio and report on performance and impact.
• Produce management reports, dashboards and data analyses for stakeholders.
• Promote best practices in service delivery, governance, and referral pathways.
• Lead development of new employability initiatives and strengthen partnerships.
• Coordinate employability offerings across community hubs nationwide and drive regional collaboration.
• Broker partnerships with external providers and employers to commission services.
• Provide strategic guidance on Employability to the Community Investment and Successful Tenancies teams.
