Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Ecology Resource Planning Lead in Birmingham to shape talent deployment for our Nature Services unit. You will own resource planning, align projects with capabilities, and partner with senior leaders to deliver innovative workforce strategies.

You’ll drive portfolio-wide workforce insights, optimise utilisation, and support growth by developing future capability and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in resource management, workforce planning or strategic resourcing.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a complex, matrix environment.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills with the confidence to challenge constructively.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Experience balancing operational priorities with people-focused decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead workforce planning and resource optimisation initiatives across the Nature Services Business Unit.
• Balance utilisation, financial performance, project delivery requirements, and people development objectives.
• Drive resource agility across teams, ensuring effective deployment of talent to meet business needs.
• Monitor resource supply and demand to enable proactive planning and informed decision-making.
• Develop a deep understanding of team capabilities, skills and future talent requirements.
• Support employee growth and career development through strategic project allocation.
