Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a seasoned Contracts professional to join our defence-focused team in Stevenage. You will lead negotiation, drafting and management of complex contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.

The role requires an ability to drive bids, manage multiple contracts concurrently, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. Security clearance may be required; candidates with MoD contracting knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial contracting within a defence environment.
• Experience drafting, negotiating and agreeing contracts and agreements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with MoD contracting structure, including DEFCONs and QDCs.
• Security clearance vetting may be required if not already cleared.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiation and terms alignment with company objectives.
• Own the full Route to Contract, driving bidding processes, cost delivery, proposals and bespoke terms.
• Oversee Contract Delivery and amendments, ensuring acceptance criteria and deliverables.
• Manage contracts lifecycle including amendments, renewals and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and defence industry standards (ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS).
• Contribute to business winning through contract-driven opportunities.
• Identify contractual risks and implement mitigation with relevant departments.
• Act as primary point of contact for contractual matters with clients and partners.
• Provide regular senior management reporting on status, risks and issues.
• Lead or support dispute resolution in collaboration with legal.
