Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage is seeking a Commercial Manager with demonstrable defence/aerospace experience for a long-term contract, with some home working available. The role requires strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills across the contract lifecycle.

The successful candidate will drive strategy and bidding processes, manage negotiations, and ensure delivery of commitments to customers while coordinating with a multi-functional team.

Qualifications

• Experience in defence/aerospace environment.
• Must have customer facing experience.
• Ideal: experience working into UK MOD.
• Experience in in-house contracts teams or contract negotiations with customers is a plus.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Business Strategy - maximise identified business opportunities.
• Business Winning - drive the route to contract during bidding, coordinate cross-functional costs, proposals and contract negotiations.
• Contract Delivery - ensure MBDA meets its promises to customers.
• Negotiations - secure acceptance on issues and amendments for contractual compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers with a collaborative approach.
• Be the project contact for contractual information and legal advice as needed.
• Communicate with personnel at all levels and report progress to senior management.
• Represent the commercial team in progress/reviews and customer meetings.
• Analyse and solve complex issues daily with a multi-functional team.
