Job summary

Harnham is looking for a Data Analyst to work remotely with one mandatory Leeds office day per month. The role supports workforce analytics and policy-driven decision making, delivering insights to influence pay frameworks and long-term strategy.

You will build Excel models, analyse datasets, and present findings to senior stakeholders, collaborating with policy teams to drive evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills, including building complex models from scratch.
• Experience using formulas, Pivot Tables, charts, VBA, and macros.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving capability.
• Experience modelling complex business, workforce, or financial scenarios.
• Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• STEM degree, ideally within mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver workforce, pay, and reward analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Build and maintain complex Excel-based models to forecast workforce and financial outcomes.
• Develop cost modelling for pay proposals, policy changes, and workforce initiatives.
• Create scenario analysis and long-term forecasts incorporating variables such as workforce growth, attrition, and inflation.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate business and policy questions into analytical specifications and modelling frameworks.
• Produce clear reports and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Present findings and analytical insights to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with policy teams and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decisions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of analytical methodologies and best practices.
