Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking two Community Safety Analysts to join the Community Safety Team. This important role focuses on evidence-led decision-making across the Birmingham Community Safety Partnership, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.

You will lead strategic and tactical analysis, develop performance metrics, and present findings to stakeholders, ensuring data governance and GDPR compliance throughout.

Qualifications

• Significant experience analysing data within community safety, crime, criminal justice, local government, or related public sector environment.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets across multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality analytical outputs that influence strategy, policy, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead Strategic Analysis: produce and refresh the Strategic Needs Assessment (SNA) and shape city-wide community safety priorities with internal and external data.
• Deliver Tactical Insight: create problem profiles and hotspot analysis using methods like SARA; support targeted interventions.
• Drive Performance & Impact: develop performance frameworks and KPIs; create dashboards to communicate insights.
