Job summary

The University of Birmingham is seeking an Executive Support/Data Analyst to join the Data & Analytics Team. The role focuses on preparing data, running reports, and supporting the move to cloud solutions while building data literacy across the institution.

You will work with stakeholders, develop insights, and maintain enterprise reports across multiple systems, contributing to the university's data strategy and decision-making culture.

Qualifications

• A relevant technical qualification (or equivalent experience) and substantial relevant professional experience.
• Experience with modern reporting software such as Tableau, Power BI or Data Bricks.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
• Experience with databases, CRM systems or statistical tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders and manage tasks.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Analytical and systematic problem-solving.
• Ability to work calmly in a busy environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports within Power BI and Tableau to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
• Monitor data pipelines and refresh schedules and coordinate activity with IT Services to ensure reporting services are maintained.
• Interpret data and communicate quantitative information to a variety of audiences clearly and concisely, and highlight important insights.
• Provide support to business critical processes owned by Strategic Planning.
• Monitor team email mailbox and prioritise team workload.
