Job summary

Sopra Steria UK is recruiting a Strategic Control Room Operator to join our Information Centre at the heart of managing incidents on the National Highways SRN. The role is based in Birmingham and operates on a 6 days on/4 days off pattern within a 24/7 service, with salary of £26,000 plus a 15% shift allowance.

You will receive information from multiple sources, assess details, create and manage NTIS events, and assist with setting VMS across the SRN while monitoring traffic data and keeping

Responsibilities

• Receive information from various sources about incidents on the SRN, assess details and create/manage events on the NTIS system.
• Manage NTIS-generated events.
• Assist customers by setting Variable Message Signs (VMS) across the SRN.
• Monitor traffic data to detect current events.
• Validate and manage automated roadwork events.
• Keep stakeholders informed in line with agreed procedures.
