Job summary

Premises Recruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established main contractor to appoint a Business Development Manager for the NE London/Essex region. This permanent role focuses on pre-construction activities, building relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders, and feeding market intelligence to support winning bids.

You will work closely with the MD and Pre-Construction Director, manage databases, attend meetings, track opportunities, and help shape the company’s approach to tenders

Qualifications

• Experience with contractors or construction consultancy.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Credible and confident in client meetings and presentations.
• Solid understanding of construction procurement routes and contracts.
• Friendly, approachable manner with strong client focus.
• Technical construction knowledge to discuss projects with clients.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Keep in regular contact with key clients and consultants via meetings and calls.
• Gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for the tender lists.
• Feed feedback from live opportunities to Directors and the bid team.
• Assist in selecting opportunities to pursue and to decline.
• Support management of frameworks to maximise value.
• Maintain accurate opportunity records in the CRM.
• Lead marketing initiatives and client events.
• Stay updated on industry trends and sustainability commitments.
