Job summary

Aureos Infrastructure Services Limited, on behalf of the Taylor Woodrow / Aureos JV working on Washwood Heath for HS2, seeks a Senior QS to drive strategic commercial initiatives and optimize revenue streams. You will lead the commercial aspects of the building section, from negotiation to contract management, to achieve project objectives.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in commercial roles with leadership in infrastructure, exceptional negotiation and analytical skills, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, engineering or related field; MBA desirable.
• 10+ years in commercial roles with at least 5 years in leadership within infra/construction.
• Proven track record closing complex deals and achieving revenue targets.
• Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms and risk management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills across levels.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic commercial plans.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and financial reports.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and commercial software tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Strong leadership and team development experience.
• HS2 experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist to develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Manage the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation and optimal performance.
• Oversee pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability across services.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, industry partners and internal departments.
• Monitor commercial performance, analyze metrics and provide reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with legal, finance and operations to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
• Lead and mentor a section of the commercial team and promote development.
• Stay abreast of regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
