Job summary

M&G plc is seeking a Category Manager for Consulting & Professional Advisory in London or Stirling. You will own the category strategy, lead high-value sourcing events, and influence senior stakeholders to deliver cost reductions while aligning procurement with business priorities.

You will act as a trusted advisor, shaping commercial terms, managing supplier relationships, and leveraging data insights with tools like Power BI and Market Dojo to drive savings and value for the organisation.

Qualifications

• Substantial category management or strategic sourcing experience.
• Experience leading negotiations on high-value contracts with major vendors.
• Credibility with senior stakeholders and ability to influence decisions without formal authority.
• Strong commercial and financial judgement; able to explain budget and P&L impact.
• Willingness to work from London or Stirling offices for majority of the week.
• Desirable experience with Power BI, Market Dojo and offshore/nearshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, own and execute the category strategy for Consulting and Professional Advisory.
• Lead high-value sourcing events and negotiations, setting strategy and BATNA.
• Manage senior supplier relationships under commercial pressure.
• Report savings and cost avoidance; maintain a forward pipeline for Finance.
• Act as a trusted commercial adviser to senior business owners across the spend area.
