Job summary

WSP in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Associate Director to lead environmental consents across a nationwide team. You will direct multi-disciplinary inputs, manage recruitment and bids, and drive environmental performance for major infrastructure and energy projects aligned with Net Zero goals.

The role involves leading and growing the water sector offer, building client relationships, and delivering high-quality, safe and sustainable engineering solutions across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental / planning degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record in EIA delivery for major water schemes.
• Experience across Habitats Regulations Assessments and similar consenting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments.
• Direct and manage recruitment, bidding, project team management, and delivery.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary inputs across sectors to improve environmental performance.
• Drive growth and build client relationships in water sector.
• Promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement across projects.
• Lead large, complex projects with focus on quality, safety and budget.
• Develop proposals and bid for opportunities and framework engagements.
• Support marketing and cross-selling, including presenting at conferences for WSP.
• Develop innovative techniques (Digital EIA, Future Ready EIA) to shape the business.
