Job summary

National Grid in Warwick is seeking a Head of Strategic Asset Management to lead the development and delivery of the Asset Management Strategy across the Electricity Transmission network. This pivotal role shapes investment priorities, risk management and regulatory commitments.

You will work with Finance, Regulation, Engineering, Operations and Digital teams to translate strategy into actionable plans, build robust business cases, and drive maturity across the organisation.

Qualifications

• A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, Economics, Business or a related technical discipline.
• Senior Asset Management, strategic planning, or investment leadership in a regulated environment.
• Experience developing Asset Management Strategies and long-term planning frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning and investment decision-making.
• Experience leading regulatory submissions and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to build compelling investment cases and evidence for decisions.
• Experience with regulators or assurance bodies and representing Asset Management at senior levels.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness, including affordability analysis and whole-life value.

• Shape long-term asset plans and investment strategies balancing risk and value.
• Develop robust business plans and investment cases with clear evidence.
• Collaborate with Finance, Regulation, Engineering, Operations and Digital teams.
• Represent Asset Management in forums with regulators, auditors and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership through planning cycles and translate complex information into strategy.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team with accountability.
