Job summary

UKRI’s Strategic Analysis team is seeking a fixed-term analyst to study financial sustainability and resilience of the UK’s research system. The role focuses on building evidence for UKRI as a responsible investor and on options for policy levers it controls.

The position is hybrid and open to full-time or part-time work of at least 0.8 FTE, with potential alignment to the Spending Review. Applicants should have Python, R or SQL skills, or be willing to learn them.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a numerate subject.
• Experience with analytical projects and data analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality evidence on key UKRI areas as a responsible investor.
• Lead analytics on options for policy levers available to UKRI.
• Collaborate with strategy counterparts and analysts across departments.
• Support the Lead Analyst on financial sustainability and resilience.
• Move to priority work including Spending Review and evidence gaps.
