We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and ambitious individual to join our Strategic Accounts Team at Nationwide Platforms.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will manage approximately Construction customer accounts nationwide, ideally based in the South East region.

This role is busy, varied, and challenging, with a 60/40 split between customer account management and developing new business across the UK. We seek candidates who have successfully managed, developed, and retained large construction accounts at a national level, with a proven ability to grow these accounts and develop new streams of business.

Experience working with customers in the Construction sector and managing high-profile, large accounts is essential.

We value longevity in roles and demonstrated success. You should be tenacious, hardworking, ambitious, able to work autonomously, and eager to exceed targets. A team player capable of collaborating across all levels is also required.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary with a 30% OTE bonus, car/car allowance, pension, BUPA medical, life assurance, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Location: Ideally in the South East, with regular travel across the UK. Our head office is in Lutterworth, LE17 4PN.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage, retain, and grow a portfolio of Strategic Accounts, ensuring long-term, profitable market share growth and strategic opportunities.
  2. Identify and develop revenue from new business opportunities within the portfolio, meeting financial targets.
  3. Collaborate with customers to develop detailed account plans aligned with business objectives.
  4. Maintain a pipeline of opportunities, support tendering processes, and forecast future revenue streams.
  5. Be customer-focused, with excellent listening skills, and capable of delivering on commitments.
  6. Create partnerships with safety-driven clients, leveraging all aspects of NWP's products and services.
  7. Develop sector and customer knowledge to guide NWP in developing relevant value-added products and services, including sustainability, safety, and environment.
  8. Ensure all customers have a call plan recorded on CRM and maintain regular visits to strengthen relationships, prevent competitors from gaining ground, and seek repeat business.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience managing Strategic Accounts in the Construction industry with a successful growth and retention record.
  • Consultative and strategic selling experience, with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Financial and commercial acumen with the ability to develop winning proposals and strategies.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Results-driven, responsive, passionate, and persistent.
  • Confident, ambitious, and proactive.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce.com).
  • Ability to build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret customer data and present operational KPIs confidently.
