Job summary

Actavo Power in Barnsley is seeking a proactive stores/operator to own stores operations and support day-to-day vehicle fleet management. The role is hands-on, suited to someone with warehouse or stores experience and who can use stock management systems and coordinate with operations teams to keep projects running.

Responsibilities include stock control, inbound/outbound movements, deliveries, supplier liaison, fleet administration, and SHEQ checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehouse, logistics, or stock control.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using digital systems.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to tow trailers.
• Forklift truck licence preferred; training will be provided if required.

Responsibilities

• Managing stock levels and the stock management system, including raising purchase orders
• Coordinating inbound and outbound stock movements
• Organising deliveries and supporting site facilities and welfare units setup
• Liaising with suppliers, sourcing alternative products, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Supporting fleet operations including vehicle servicing, MOTs, inspections, incidents, and fleet administration
• Working with operations teams and transport department in Ireland
• Ensuring stores area is safe, secure and tidy with weekly/monthly SHEQ checks

Actavo Power is looking for a professional, organised, and technically savvy individual to take ownership of our stores operations and support the day-to-day management of our vehicle fleet.

This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with warehouse or stores experience who is comfortable using stock management systems, managing suppliers, and working closely with operational teams to keep projects running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Managing stock levels and maintaining our stock management system, including raising purchase orders
• Coordinating inbound and outbound stock movements
• Organising deliveries and supporting the setup of site facilities and welfare units
• Liaising with suppliers, sourcing alternative products, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Supporting fleet operations, including vehicle servicing, MOTs, inspections, incidents, and general fleet administration
• Working closely with operations teams and our transport department in Ireland
• Ensuring stores area is safe, secure and tidy including weekly and monthly SHEQ checks

Requirements

• A motivated and proactive individual based locally to our Barnsley depot
• Previous stores, warehouse, logistics, or stock control experience
• Strong IT skills and confidence using digital systems
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to tow trailers
• Forklift truck licence (preferred) Training will be provided if required
