STERIS Instrument Processing in the UK is recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician at entry level. You will be trained to perform end-to-end sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments used in NHS and private hospitals.

The role involves handling sterile consumables, operating washer/sterilizers, and maintaining accurate tracking records. It offers full structured training, progression to a defined career path, and a supportive, diverse culture.

Qualifikationen

• Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
• Basic end-user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT systems.

Aufgaben

• Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
• Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
• Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
• Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
• Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
• Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
