Job summary

Cheshire East Council is recruiting a Step-Forward Foster Carer to welcome a child or sibling group into your home, providing stability and family life within a supportive framework.

You will work with social workers and therapists, receiving specialist training and dedicated local fostering support. A formal Right to Work in the United Kingdom, age 21+, and a suitable home with a spare bedroom are required for this rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or over
• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Capable of providing full-time care for a child or children
• Must have a spare bedroom for fostering
• Experience with children, young people, or adults with complex needs or challenging behaviours (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group from residential care
• Offer stability, routine and reassurance in a nurturing home
• Support emotional, behavioural and social development of the child
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals
• Maintain clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care
• Foster with Family Time to help maintain family relationships
