Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to provide stable, nurturing homes for children leaving residential care. You will welcome a child or sibling group, offering them belonging, routine, and ongoing guidance within your family environment.

Supported at every stage with specialist training, supervision and a local fostering team, you will receive a salary of £52,000 per year (£1,000 per week) plus additional payments for the child and celebrations, with a 50% retainer

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or over with no upper age limit.
• Must have right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Capable of providing full-time care for a child or children.
• Must have a spare bedroom(s) suitable for fostering.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time caregiving for a child or sibling group joined to your family.
• Offer stable routines, emotional and social development support, and a nurturing home.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and deliver therapeutic, relationship-based care.
• Support family time to maintain connections with birth families.
