Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome a child or sibling group into your home, providing stability, routine and the emotional support they need during a key time in their young lives. You will receive specialist training, regular supervision and guidance from social workers and therapists, plus access to peer networks and a local fostering team.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or over with no upper age limit.
• Must have the Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Must be able to provide full-time care for a child or children.
• Must have a spare bedroom for fostering.
• Ideally experience supporting children, young people, or adults, especially with complex needs or challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group from residential care.
• Provide stability, routine, and reassurance within a nurturing home.
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural, and social development.
• Work closely with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
• Maintain family relationships through Family Time.
