Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Step-Forward Foster Carer to welcome a child or sibling group into your home, providing stability, routine, and loving care. You will work with social workers and therapists to support emotional and social development, keeping records and offering a safe, family-like environment.

Salary is £1,000 per week per child with additional payments for the child’s holidays, birthdays, and celebrations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to support children who may have experienced trauma or disruption.
• Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with complex needs or challenging behaviours preferred.

Responsibilities

• Full-time care for a child or sibling group moving from residential care.
• Provide stability, routine and reassurance within a nurturing home.
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural and social development.
• Work closely with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
• Help children maintain family relationships through Family Time.
