Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking compassionate Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome children or sibling groups into a family home. You will provide stability, routine and a nurturing environment, helping children heal from trauma and build confidence for the future.

The role emphasizes collaboration with social workers and therapists, with specialist training, supervision and access to peer networks. A Right to Work in the UK and a spare bedroom are required.

Qualifications

• Are aged 21 or over (no upper age limit)
• Have the legal Right to Work in the United Kingdom
• Can provide full-time care for a child or children in their home
• Have a spare bedroom(s) for fostering
• Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs is desirable

Responsibilities

• Full-time care for a child or sibling group moving from residential care
• Provide stability, routine and reassurance within a nurturing home
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural and social development
• Work closely with social workers, therapists and other professionals
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care
• Facilitate Family Time to maintain family relationships
