Job summary

Tower Hamlets School in London is seeking a dedicated Science Technician for a permanent role starting immediately. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals, ensuring safe prep of materials and equipment, and maintain lab safety logs.

You will manage stock, calibrate apparatus, and assist during demonstrations and practical exams, contributing to a high-quality STEM learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and meticulous record-keeping skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to school laboratories.
• A strong academic background or qualification in a core science discipline.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Preparing practical equipment, chemicals, and resources for daily science lessons.
• Maintaining, calibrating, and organizing laboratory apparatus and teaching areas.
• Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including CLEAPSS and COSHH logs.
• Assisting teaching staff during practical demonstrations and exam practicals.
• Managing stock control, chemical storage, and placing procurement orders.
