RECRUITMENT HELPLINE is seeking an experienced Steel Erector for a minimum 6-month fixed-term contract in High Wycombe. Role includes on-site installation, safety management, and coordination with crane operators and fabricators. Competitive pay based on experience.

You will read technical drawings, work across multiple project locations, and support a small project team. CSCS required; driving licence and own transport essential. Welding ability is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a steel erector on commercial or industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel installation and on-site safety.
• Physically fit for manual handling duties.
• CSCS card required; IPAF/CPCS or slinger/signaller qualifications advantageous.
• Comfortable working at height and in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.

Steel Erector (Minimum 6-Month Fixed Term Contract) with potential to be permanent

Salary: £34,000 - £39,000 per annum

Position: Steel Erector

Contract Length: Minimum 6 months (to cover absence due to illness)

Location: High Wycombe, travelling to various project locations

HOURS: 08:00-17:00 Monday - Thursday & 07:00 - 16:00 Fridays

We are seeking an experienced Steel Erector who can not only deliver high-quality on-site installation work but also take responsibility for managing day-to-day activities on site. This 6-month fixed-term role is to provide cover while a permanent team member is recovering from illness but could be extended. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, coordinating tasks, and ensuring smooth progress across multiple stages of steel erection.
