Job summary

Your Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Steel Erector to join a trusted construction company on a permanent basis near Castlewellan, Northern Ireland. You will work with a site team, following drawings to erect structural steelwork safely and to a high standard.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, and a flexible approach to travel within ~20 miles. A reliable, team-oriented candidate with safety awareness will fit well.

Steel Erector

Location: Castlewellan, Northern Ireland
Salary: 19.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent
Travel: Required within approximately 20 miles of Castlewellan

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Steel Erector to join an established construction company on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient erection and installation of structural steelwork across a variety of local projects. The role will involve working as part of a site team, following drawings and specifications and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.

The Role

• Erecting and installing structural steelwork on site
• Working from engineering drawings and specifications
• Bolting, fixing and aligning steelwork
• Assisting with the positioning and installation of steel structures
• Using hand and power tools safely
• Working alongside other trades and site teams
• Following lifting plans and safe systems of work
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards
• Maintaining good housekeeping and site safety
• Travelling to various sites within approximately 20 miles of Castlewellan

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Steel Erector or in a similar structural steel role
• Good understanding of steel erection and construction site practices
• Ability to read and work from drawings
• Experience using relevant hand and power tools
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Reliable and punctual approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full driving licence would be advantageous
• Relevant site qualifications/tickets would be advantageous
