Job summary

South Western Railway is seeking a Station Supervisor in Salisbury to lead a team of station assistants, delivering a safe, clean and welcoming environment while maintaining high standards of customer service.

The role requires managing staff records, emergencies, and ensuring shift coverage across early to late hours. Training is provided; a strong customer focus and colour vision are essential.

Qualifications

• Good general education.
• Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership experience desirable.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights.
• Must have colour vision to distinguish signals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct staff to provide safe, courteous, helpful service at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented customer environment per cleaning schedules.
• Undertake emergency and evacuation procedures when required.
• Manage signing on/off records for staff when Duty Station Manager is absent.
• Ensure coverage for short-term absences and sickness.
