Job summary

Search Consultancy are recruiting 6 Station Assistants for a busy rail operation at Manchester Victoria Train Station on a temporary basis for an initial 6-month assignment. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service on station platforms during timetable changes.

You will assist passengers, support during disruptions, and provide Passenger Assist for customers with disabilities, while ensuring safety and professionalism at all times. Uniform provided and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• This role welcomes candidates from hospitality, fast food, retail or transport backgrounds.
• Experience dealing with the public and remaining professional in challenging situations is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors on station platforms in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers with travel queries and provide station information.
• Support customers during service disruptions and timetable changes.
• Provide Passenger Assist for customers with disabilities or additional needs.
• Help passengers with luggage and mobility equipment.
• Deploy and lift access ramps up to 22 kg.

Search Consultancy are currently recruiting 6 Station Assistants to join a busy rail operation at Manchester Victoria Train Station on a temporary basis for an initial 6-month assignment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates from hospitality, fast food, retail, customer service, events or transport backgrounds who are confident dealing with members of the public and can remain professional in challenging situations.

The Role

You will be based on station platforms, assisting passengers and providing excellent customer service during significant timetable and platform changes, including the closure of Platform 5 at Manchester Victoria.

Duties will include:

• Assisting passengers with travel queries and providing station information
• Supporting customers during service disruptions and timetable changes
• Providing Passenger Assist support for customers with disabilities or additional needs
• Assisting passengers with luggage and mobility equipment
• Deploying and lifting access ramps (up to 22kg)
• Maintaining a visible presence on station platforms
• Working closely with station teams to ensure passenger safety
• Delivering exceptional customer service at all times
