Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Staff Software Automation Engineer (SDET) to join our Identity Authentication team. You will define automation strategy, build scalable test infrastructure, and empower teams to deliver secure, high-quality SaaS services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering, SDET, or quality engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and building automation frameworks and infrastructure at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Knowledge of IAM concepts and security-focused testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the automation strategy for mission-critical Identity services and domains.
• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for API, UI, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Own quality engineering infrastructure, providing development teams with optimized tools and frameworks.
• Drive engineering excellence by improving test coverage, CI/CD integration, and quality gates.
• Lead complex debugging and root-cause analysis across distributed, cloud-native environments.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Security to enhance product quality and delivery.
• Mentor engineers to foster a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
• Implement AI-driven approaches to optimize testing efficiency and overall engineering productivity.
