Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Oxford is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join the Quantum System Infrastructure team.

You will shape the platform used by engineering and science to build, test and deliver quantum systems, applying DevSecOps to secure, observable infrastructure both on-site and in the cloud. As a senior member, you will lead on defining and implementing platform initiatives, work with physicists and engineers, and drive meaningful projects across Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and secure

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Platform/DevOps or SRE role.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Kubernetes in production experience and CI/CD expertise.
• Observability and security focus including secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Run and evolve the Kubernetes platform and release process.
• Improve CI speed and reliability for GitHub Actions.
• Define dashboards and alerts for observability of system hardware.
• Provide ready-to-use remote development environments on-site or in the cloud.
• Maintain secure, reproducible infrastructure as code and runbooks.
