Overview

Staff Nurse - Wheal Coates

Wheal Coates is a mixed specialty surgical ward caring for patients through elective and emergency pathways. We provide care for planned surgery including Inpatients and Day-cases across specialties such as Max-Fax, ENT, Ophthalmology, Oral and Vascular, and we also care for emergency and medical patients. We are seeking registered nurses who are committed to autonomous practice, teamwork, and ongoing learning to ensure positive patient outcomes.

It is not essential to have worked within Surgery to apply; we welcome all Registered Nurses as we are committed to supporting you and your development. We work together to create a positive team spirit and recognise achievements.

Main duties of the job

There is a clear development structure in place, including senior ward level nursing and Clinical Nurse Specialists within the Surgical specialty. We offer simulation training at the point of care to practice and develop acute clinical skills while learning the values of good teamwork.

Qualifications

Essential – Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration (students pending registration); commitment to obtain assessing/mentoring qualification
