The role includes assessment, planning, and implementing care for mental health patients in a safe environment. The position requires participating in quality standards and promoting patient involvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse post on Mulberry 3. Mulberry 3 is a 16 bedded Recovery Mental Health Ward located at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge Road, Fulbourn (CB21 5EF). It forms part of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust’s adult acute mental health inpatient services. The ward provides a safe and supportive environment for adults who require a longer period of hospital‑based recovery before returning to community living. Patients are typically admitted to Mulberry 3 following treatment on another acute ward when their clinical team determines that further support is needed to consolidate recovery and prepare for discharge. The ward supports people with complex or ongoing mental health needs who benefit from continued therapeutic input in a structured setting.
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is a health and social care organisation dedicated to providing high‑quality care with compassion to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for. Our clinical teams deliver many NHS services, not only via inpatient and primary care settings but also within the community. These services include children’s, adult and older people’s mental health, forensic and specialist mental health, learning disabilities, primary care and liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, social care, research and development. We look to recruit high‑calibre candidates who share our vision and values and encourage applications from all sectors of the community, particularly from under‑represented groups including people with long‑term conditions, members of ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. CPFT reserves the right to close adverts earlier than the specified closing date should sufficient applications be received.
Applicants may be asked to register with Temporary Staffing Services (TSS) if they wish to take on additional flexible hours. In line with the WHO Health Workforce Support and Safeguards List 2020, the Trust cannot accept applications from overseas candidates in a ‘Red List’ country. Applicants requiring entry to the UK must provide valid police certificates from the relevant authority in each applicable country, as required for visa processing. Successful candidates will be subject to pre‑employment checks, including DBS (if appropriate), references and occupational health. All communications will be sent via TRAC Systems, and information will be transferred to the national NHS Electronic Staff Records system upon offer.
