Job summary

Dex is partnering with a company building realtime messaging infrastructure used by millions of devices. They seek a Staff-level, full-stack leader who will report to the CTO and co-own the DevEx vision for all customer-facing web apps, from analytics dashboards to billing UIs.

You will lead five engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the team acts as principal stakeholders, not just implementers, delivering rapid iterations and strong API design.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack JS engineer with React and TypeScript, plus backend in Rails or Node.js.
• Experience leading a small engineering team and shaping technical direction.
• Clear view on developer tooling and delivering excellent Developer Experience.
• Proven ability to integrate LLMs/AI tools into engineering workflows for velocity gains.
• Empathy for developer customers and solid API design/documentation understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five full-stack engineers, balancing technical leadership with people development.
• Own end-to-end architecture for customer-facing web applications: analytics dashboard, docs, marketing site, sign-up, billing.
• Drive adoption of AI tools and LLMs to boost team productivity and velocity.
• Set engineering excellence bar across code review, testing, and incident response.
• Collaborate with SDK and realtime infra teams to ensure cohesive developer experience.
