Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a Blackburn specialist school for a Teaching Assistant with a strong sporting background to join their dedicated team as soon as possible. This temporary position offers a path to permanent employment for the right candidate and a chance to work with pupils aged 8 to 16 with SEMH needs.

Qualifications

• Background in sport, coaching, fitness or youth work as core experience.
• Ability to engage pupils through physical activity and teamwork.
• Capable of supporting students with SEMH needs in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support students both in and out of the classroom.
• Use sport, physical activity and teamwork to engage and motivate pupils.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support.
• Promote positive wellbeing and encourage active participation throughout the school day.
• Act as a positive role model for young people who may have faced barriers to learning.
