Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support learners in a PRU in Accrington on a full-time agency basis. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help manage behaviour and build trusting relationships to promote wellbeing and learning.

Experience with SEMH, sports coaching or youth work is highly desirable. An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) is required, with ongoing professional development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND, youth work, or sports coaching.
• DBS check (enhanced) or willingness to obtain one.
• Passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Encourage participation, confidence and personal development through engaging activities.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support learning and wellbeing.
