Job summary
Protocol Education are recruiting for a Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to work within a Sunderland school supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs. You will use sport, physical activity and positive relationships to help pupils re-engage with education and develop confidence.
This full-time role runs during term time, with school hours and a daily rate of £98–£120 depending on experience. A background in sports coaching or youth work is ideal, with DBS and right to work in the UK
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people is desirable
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils during lessons and activities
- Using sport to build relationships and encourage engagement
- Delivering or supporting physical activities
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
- Supporting positive behaviour
- Helping pupils manage emotions and frustrations
- Encouraging teamwork, communication and resilience
- Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff
- Acting as a positive role model
