Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a VELYS Spine Clinical Specialist in the UK to lead the clinical introduction, adoption, and optimization of VELYS Spine robotics across spinal units. You will partner with surgeons and hospital teams to ensure safe, effective use and drive patient outcomes and growth.

The role requires field-based travel, strong clinical background in spine/orthopaedics, exceptional communication and training skills, and the ability to work independently with healthcare

Qualifications

• Clinical background in theatre/clinical roles.
• Experience with spine, orthopaedics and enabling tech.
• Strong communication and training skills; travel-ready.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site clinical launch of VELYS Spine systems at new centers.
• Provide in-theatre case support during procedures.
• Guide surgical teams on workflow integration and best practice techniques.
• Troubleshoot clinical and technical issues in real time.
• Deliver structured education programmes for surgeons and theatre teams.
• Provide hands-on training, in-service education and product demonstrations.
• Build clinical capability and confidence across all user groups.
• Develop clinical champions and centres of excellence.
• Drive early adoption and sustained utilisation of VELYS Spine technology.
• Support case planning, procedural optimisation, and pathway standardisation.
• Monitor and report clinical usage, performance, and outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with spine surgeons, clinical leaders, theatre and nursing teams, and hospital management.
• Act as the primary clinical liaison between customers and the internal team.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Medical Education teams to deliver account plans.
• Support evaluations, bids, and new site activations.
• Provide clinical insight and feedback to R&D and product teams.
• Capture field insights to drive product and workflow improvements.
• Stay current with robotics, navigation, and digital spine surgery innovations.
• Contribute to the development of best practice pathways and clinical standards
