Role Overview

The Specifications Manager / Applications Engineer / Engineering Manager is required to join a world-leading distributor of hydraulic products, applications, and solutions.

The successful candidate will define and support technical specifications for hydraulic systems and components, ensuring compliance and performance across valves, pumps, actuators, cylinders, and associated hydraulic products and solutions.

Ideal Candidate

Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and specifying hydraulic components is preferred. Hydraulic Engineers seeking to advance into a more specialized role are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate specification and smooth operation of complex hydraulic systems, including actuators, motors, and cylinders.
• Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Provide technical input on hydraulics for operational and capital expenditure planning.
• Offer technical hydraulic advice via phone and onsite visits.
• Liaise with various engineering departments.

Requirements

• Experience in roles such as specifications manager, technical specialist, applications engineer, or similar.
• Strong background in specifying technical engineering products and solutions.
• Experience with complex machinery/systems like hydraulics, actuators, cylinders, valves, pumps, and industrial motors.
• Knowledge of industrial hydraulics is essential.
• A technical engineering degree or equivalent experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to commute daily near Newark.
