Job Description:

Key responsibilities

• Manage allocated claims (Specialty) to provide satisfactory conclusions for all interested parties, with a view to minimising the claims lifecycle and static claims.
• Support and implement the claims philosophy to deliver a consistent, high-quality service, ensuring all claims are assessed fairly and promptly in compliance with Lloyd’s standards and internal Claims Handling Guidelines, including ECF turnaround times.
• Assist in producing internal and external reports and operate controls (aged report, static report, purge report, diary, etc.).
• Contribute to profitability by handling claims appropriately, maximising subrogation opportunities, and controlling expenses.
• Report significant developments or complex claims with potential of USD 1m+ or financial movements of USD 500k+ to the Claims Manager for inclusion in weekly reports to Senior Management.
• Act within claims authority, both financial and non-financial, including referrals regarding declinations and reservations of rights, ensuring compliance with referral processes for litigation involving the client.
• Assist with Reinsurance queries to expedite payment of claims.
• Perform any other duties reasonably falling under the role's remit.

Skills & experience profile

• Experience in claims handling, focusing on first-party specialty claims (including aviation, marine, and energy).
• Experience with ECF, Microsoft Office suite, and other claims software (e.g., Sequel and Trax).
• Effective communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly identify and resolve problems.
