Job summary

Queen Alexandra College in Harborne, Birmingham, is seeking a Cover Tutor to support learners with complex needs. You will plan and deliver highly individualised teaching across the college and monitor progress in line with EHCP targets.

The role requires adapting to learners' needs, collaborating with the Curriculum Area Manager, and ensuring safeguarding and quality standards are met. 36 hours per week across 39 weeks, with salary bands based on qualification and experience.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and maths qualification or higher.
• Experience with differentiated learning approaches and curriculum.
• Excellent organisation, communication, ICT, behaviour management and flexibility.
• Understanding of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, plan, and assess the curriculum with an individualised approach in collaboration with the Curriculum Area Manager.
• Plan, assess and record learner achievements against EHCP targets.
• Deliver quality teaching aligned to professional standards and learner needs (EHCP/goals).
• Prepare schemes of work and differentiated lesson planning with clear purpose.
• Lead sessions with timed, scaffolded, and sequenced learning; check progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development and resource management.
