Job summary

Queen Alexandra College in Harborne, Birmingham seeks a Maths Tutor to join the Teaching department. The role involves delivering Functional Skills/GCSE, planning, delivering and assessing curricula for learners, including those with EHCPs, and contributing to curriculum development.

DBS checks apply. The post is full-time, 36 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with salary bands from £28,840.32 to £40,936.32 per year.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification at grade 2.2 minimum.
• To hold a minimum Level 4 in a teaching qualification.
• To hold literacy and numeracy qualifications Level 2 minimum.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT skills, including word processing and spreadsheet packages.

Responsibilities

• Promote the aims and ethos of the College within teaching and College life.
• Contribute to curriculum development to meet learner needs and funding requirements.
• Manage curriculum through preparation, research, liaison with colleagues and awarding body requirements.
• Deliver, plan and assess the curriculum with an individualised approach in collaboration with the Curriculum Area Manager.
• Plan, assess and record individual learner achievements against targets.
• Deliver quality teaching and learning tailored to EHCP and other assessments.
