Job summary

Randstad Education in Sussex is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN across several settings. You will work closely with teachers to enable learners to access the curriculum, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help create an inclusive, caring environment.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with a supportive team, regular pay reviews, and access to fully funded training and qualifications.

Qualifications

Be able to support learners with various SEN needs.
Previous Care, education or childcare experience (desirable).
Personal or professional experience of SEN.
Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
GCSE Maths and English at pass grade.

Responsibilities

Assist students during class, ensuring they stay on track.
Liaise with class teacher for smooth running of the class.
Supervision of children during playtimes and lunch breaks.
Enable learners to access the curriculum.
Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Use interests to engage students in learning.
